Audrey Song

Audrey Song is a visual artist and creative technologist from Cary, North Carolina, working across oil painting, mixed media installation, and code. Trained at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts high school conservatory, her practice explores cultural dissonance, the queer experience, and personal identity, using juxtapositions of unlike materials (oil paint against yarn, stitched textile against raw canvas) to render conflicting parts of a self within a single frame.

Recognized by the YoungArts Foundation as a 2025–2026 National Visual Art Winner, she has exhibited at the WSSU Diggs Gallery and the North Carolina Museum of Art, and was named a U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts Semifinalist. Her work has earned six Gold Keys from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, including a Gold Key Portfolio. She has recently grown interested in creative code as a medium, exploring what becomes possible when a physical process is rebuilt as software and its material constraints are altered, a direction she developed at UCLA's Art, Code & AI Summer Institute as the sole recipient of the full YoungArts scholarship. Audrey is an incoming student at Wellesley College, Class of 2030, where she will study Media Arts and Sciences and work between computer science and studio art practice at Wellesley and MIT's Media Lab.
